2014 National Music Academy Award

New music center receives top national honor at award ceremony on Monday July 21st 2014 at 11 am

Special guests include Minnett Boesel, Mayor’s Assistant for Cultural Affiars, Peggy Wilson, CEO/President of the Houston Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, LeeVera Smith, Business Consultant at the University of Houston, and Roberta Skebo, Director of the University of Houston’s Small Business Development Center

In a real-life example of passion translating to success, Zeljko Pavlovic, critically acclaimed violinist and owner/founder of the Vivaldi Music Academy, is thrilled to announce the selection of Vivaldi Music Academy as “2014 National Music School of The Year” among a field of over 100 private music school competitors.

To celebrate, the Academy hosted a celebration on July 21st with Mr. Marty Fort, President of Music Academy Success who came to Houston from South Carolina to present the award.  Students, faculty, community members, Bellaire City Council Members and the Houston Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce were in attendance for the award ceremony and reception. Vivaldi Music Academy has achieved this national recognition for its thorough approach, exceptional instruction, superior business organization and growth voted by a field deep with experience and prestige of over 100 private music schools from the US and Canada. This accolade validates Pavlovic’s studied approach to staff selection, program design and business model resulting in a stunning 400 student enrollment in 11 short months since the Academy opened its doors last August.

With a musical heritage that spans two hundred years in his family, Mr. Pavlovic began his music education at the age of 3 in Sarajevo, Bosnia. After surviving and escaping the Balkan Wars, Mr. Pavlovic went on to study at the University of Novi Sad Academy of Arts at the early age of 16 as one of the youngest students. He earned his Master’s Degree in Violin Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Liege, Belgium and won several national and international competitions throughout his career. As a recitalist, he has performed throughout the United States and Europe. Having lost friends, family and fortune in the Balkan conflict, Pavlovic immigrated to the United States in 1998 with the hopes of new opportunities and the American dream.

Pavlovic has seen first-hand the positive impact of music on individuals and communities. His dream to build an outstanding music academy from the ground up and to bring music education to the forefront of the community has been truly realized with this national award as a crowning achievement. He offers music education as the foundation to build both music and life skills. The Academy culture is one of flexibility, fun, and outstanding musical instruction.  From “Parents’ Night Out” to “Kindermusik week,” the Academy is constantly finding ways to better engage their students and families, and interest new learners. “Having found an environment in which you can instantly see the professionalism and passion for music that the instructors are able to share with their students is priceless,” says student Natalie Ramirez.

The Academy is gearing up for the fall season with a portfolio of new and ongoing music programs. This announcement of a national award shows that the opening for the Academy is big and bold, and that a robust performance is sure to follow.

Music & Movement Benefits: Naturally Speaking, Of Course!

kindermusick-houston

The more you expose your child to language, the stronger his verbal skills will be. Language acquisition is a gradual process that involves many facets of development including listening, imitating facial expressions, playing peek-a-boo, and babbling. Your child will learn language naturally by hearing it used in context when you sing, read, talk, and listen to him.

Kindermusik Tips for your Baby

At two months, he coos and babbles. In his first year, he’ll begin making vowel sounds (oohs and aahs) and then move to new sounds and vowel-consonant combinations. Your baby is also learning the art of conversation. Bring your face close to his, and talk to him. Ask him a question and let him respond. He is learning that conversation is a two-way street. Your

Kindermusik Tips for your Toddler

In a verbal growth spurt, your toddler’s vocabulary expands from about 50 to 200 words. When your toddler displays emotion, give him the language to identify it: “You’re happy!” or “I can see you’re sad.” You’ll enhance his emotional intelligence as well as his vocabulary.

Kindermusik Tips for your Preschooler

Playing rhyming games is a fun way for a preschooler who is developing phonemic awareness – the recognition that sounds make up words. Encourage him by making up rhymes and laughing together. Enrolling in early childhood music and movement classes is one of the very best ways you can enhance early literacy development in your child. We happen to believe that Kindermusik is the best choice! But don’t just take our word for it… come try a free preview class on us.

Listening to Music Makes You Smarter

BenefitsOfKindermusik_SocialEmotionalLanguageLiteracyCognitiveMusicPhysical_375x300

And what better time to get started listening to music than at the very youngest ages, during those critical early years when the brain is developing the most rapidly.

That supposition is why Kindermusik places such an emphasis on exposing children to a rich, varied musical listening environment from birth. And it’s precisely why the Music Album you receive with each new music theme is so invaluable. Kindermusik makes it EASY for you to give your child many happy, enjoyable moments of listening to music of all genres.

As this article suggests, choosing the right kind of music matters – music with variety, complexity, range, and depth is most stimulating and beneficial. That’s exactly what you’ll find in your child’s Kindermusik music library. In fact, many Kindermusik parents secretly confess that they enjoy their child’s Kindermusik as much as their children do!

Here are a few tips for helping your child enjoy the benefits of music listening… and do your part to help him or her become a little smarter too:

  • Download your Home Album to your phone or MP3 device so that you can take your music with you wherever you go.
  • Create playlists of different kinds of Kindermusik songs – lullabies, dances, play-alongs, dances, quiet listening, etc.
  • Burn a CD for the car or CD player if you have one.
  • Make music listening a part of your every day routines – play music in the car, during play time at home, before naps, at bath time, and before bedtime.

Are you looking to enhance your child’s learning and development through early childhood education in music? Look no further than Kindermusik, the world’s leader in music and movement classes for young children.
