Samuel Rachleff is a versatile young musician in the greater Houston area and is currently completing his bachelor’s degree in percussion performance at the prestigious Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, Sam has a wealth of musical experience in various musical genres. In his formative years, Sam studied piano in the esteemed preparatory program at the Shepherd School of Music. After a decade of experience with piano, he turned his passion toward percussion and drum set, embracing both his classical background and love for jazz and rock. Sam’s classical training has taken him to various renowned summer festivals, performing in Aspen, Round Top, Tanglewood, and Eastern Music Festival. Throughout Houston, Sam has performed with various professional orchestral ensembles, maintaining an active freelance career. Additionally, Sam was recently named to the Houston Symphony’s substitute musicians list as a Timpanist. Outside of his instrumental endeavors, Sam maintains a strong passion and interest in music theory, currently tutoring students at the university level. Here at Vivaldi Music Academy, Sam’s devotion to educating others is on full display.
