Wheelin Han is an active flute performer and instructor in the Houston area. She has received her Master of Music at the Northwestern University, majoring in Flute Performance under Professor John Thorne, and Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance at the University of North Texas where she studied with Professor Terri Sundberg.
She won the 1st prize at Texas Music Teacher Association Collegiate Competition and was selected as a winner at Texas Flute Society Orchestral Excerpts Master Class Competition. She was selected to participate in the Marrowstone Music Festival and Hot Springs Music Festival with scholarships. In addition, her name was on the 2016 National Flute Association, Orchestral Audition Competition as a first alternate finalist. Her major teachers include Jennifer Keeney, Terri Sundberg, John Thorne, Richard Graef, and Aralee Dorough. She has also received master classes and instructions with Leon Buyse, Jonathan Keeble, Mary K Fink, Jim Walker, and Stefán Höskuldsson.
Wheelin has been teaching the flute for 4 years to students of all ages and experience and has coached various groups of chamber ensemble. She is excited to be a part of the Vivaldi Music Academy family!
