Vicki Y received her Bachelor’s and Master of Music degrees in Piano Performance from Stephen F. Austin University under the guidance of Dr. Andrew Parr.
Ms. Vicki has been playing the piano for 21 years. She started playing piano at the age of five at Yamaha Music School in Taipei, Taiwan. Vicki was a student at the Rice University Preparatory Program while studying with Dr. Park. During her studies, Vicki competed in the Houston Teacher Music Association competition for five years. She has experience in teaching in group and private lesson settings. During her graduate degree, Ms. Vicki was a secretary for MTNA collegiate chapter for SFASU. Besides teaching piano, she has accompanied different churches in East Texas. Ms. Vicki additionally collaborated with other musicians during her undergraduate and graduate degree.
She has also performed internationally in music festivals such as the InterHarmony International Music Festival and the Lunigiana Music Festival. Vicki has worked with professors such as Kevin Ayesh, Loudermilk Duo, and May Phong.
Ms. Vicki’s passion is to spread her love for music to her students. Her teaching philosophy is to make the lesson fun while teaching them proper technique and performance skills. Vicki is ready to help students to achieve their musical goals.
