Susan Kang was born in Illinois and raised in Korea where she began piano lessons at the age of 8. An avid performer, Kang has performed in bi-annual recitals every year, starting in the 8th grade. Kang has received numerous honors and awards such as the grand prize at a piano competition in Korea, 1st prize at the Piano Solo and Ensemble Contest in Illinois, and 2nd prize in Dorothy T. McDonald Music Scholarship Competition. She received the Full Four-Year Significant Scholarship; an undergraduate fellowship and was admitted to the University of Iowa with the highest distinction. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in piano performance and is currently pursuing her master’s degree. Kang is an effective and passionate teacher and enjoys teaching students of all ages and skill levels. She is excited to share her piano expertise and her love of music with Vivaldi Music Academy!
