Korean baritone Sol Jin has garnered attention as one of Opera News’ “25 Rising Stars.” Known for his powerful voice and commanding stage presence, he has performed the role of Giorgio Germont in *La Traviata* at both Carnegie Hall and with the Houston Grand Opera. His portrayal has earned critical acclaim, with the New York Times praising his “mature refinement” and “commanding amplitude and projection,” while Opera News highlighted his “incisive performance” and “beautifully sung” interpretation.
Jin’s impressive career also includes performances with the San Francisco Opera’s Merola Program, where he appeared as Rodrigo in *Don Carlo*, the title role in *Gianni Schicchi*, and Prince Yeletsky in *Pique Dame*. He has further showcased his versatility in roles such as the title character in *Macbeth* at the Manhattan School of Music and Il Conte in *Le nozze di Figaro* with Long Island Opera.
A highly decorated singer, Sol Jin has won the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, first prize in The Gerda Lissner Foundation International Vocal Competition, and numerous other awards in prestigious vocal competitions across the United States.
Jin earned his Bachelor of Music from Yonsei University in Seoul and graduated at the top of his class with a Master of Music from the Manhattan School of Music. He continues to perform as an opera singer across various theaters and cities and is scheduled to appear in a music concert at New York’s Bryant Park this September. Alongside his performance career, he serves as the Artistic Director of the New York Classical Music Society.
With over a decade of teaching experience, Sol Jin has a passion for educating young musicians. Starting piano at the age of seven, he has since combined his expertise in piano and voice to provide comprehensive lessons to students ranging from young children to adults.
