Soprano Rachael Amos graduated with a BA in Music and a minor in German from Sam Houston State University in 2017. Currently, she is working on her Masters in Musicology from the same institution, and is intended to graduate in Spring of 2021. Specializing in Baroque music, Rachael is an active performer in the Houston area, singing in both solo and ensemble settings. She has performed both nationally and internationally, with credits in the National Opera Association, Oberlin Baroque Institute, and the Bach Festival in Boulder, Colorado. Ms. Amos premiered the title role in a revived Baroque Opera, The Sacrifice of Berenice, and frequently performs large early music works. Currently, she is working on another Baroque revival to be performed in Lima, Peru.
Rachael’s lifelong passion is spreading her love of music to her students, and her teaching philosophy promotes healthy, age-appropriate technique. Well-versed in a variety of genres, Ms. Amos uses pop, musical theater, and classical music to suit her student’s interest and technique. Trained in both childhood and adult musical development, Rachael is ready to help you achieve any personal musical goals.
When not teaching or performing, Rachael enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her cat, Cosi!
