Onis began studying music at age seven and has performed in diverse genres and styles of international music. She has also performed salsa, merengue, Cuban son, bachata, bossa nova, reggae, disco, pop, country, blues, reggaeton, K-pop, Hindi, smooth jazz, and Disney, etc. Her musical influences range from Elena Burke, Argelia Fragoso, Elis Regina, Ella Fitzgerald, and Etta James to Freddy Mercury, Diana Krall, Christina Aguilera, and Beyoncé.
Onis says, “All this influence reflects in my personalized teaching methods adapted to the needs of my students.” She enjoys experimenting and taking their interpretations of music to the next level—on the piano or with their voices—so they can create a space where their essence, personality, and unique voices develop. “Their authenticity can be expressed, made visible, and heard through their performance from Vivaldi Music Academy to the world stage.”
Onis loves to learn, read, travel, and eat! She listens to music, plays and sings music from all over the world, and studies the phonetics of the languages in which she sings. Onis is passionate about world history and culture and feels music allows him to know and understand all this diversity.
