I have incorporated music into every aspect of my life since I was a second grader allowed in the third grade choir. I knew after that first success that music would be my life. To the chagrin of my family Bach, Pink Floyd, and Queen were the soundtracks of my childhood. I went on to earn a bachelors and masters degree in music performance as a high soprano.
After graduate school I taught applied voice lessons to full studio. My students have been accepted into top universities with scholarships. I have also directed children’s ensembles and taught preschool music. In 2018, I completed the Summer Vocology Institute at the University of Utah with the National Center of Voice and Speech where I studied science based pedagogy with leading voice scientist, Dr. Ingo Titze. In addition to my love of science, I perform regularly as a soloist and chorister with ensembles such as; Detroit Concert Choir, OperaMODO, Lancaster Chorale, and Toledo Opera Chorus. Several socialistic highlights include; Bachs’ Ascension Oratorio with the Michigan Sinfonietta, A Night With Harry Potter with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and Ludolph Arens Mass with the Blue Lake Symphony Orchestra. I’ve performed several operatic roles including; Susanna in Le nozzle di Figaro, Monica in The Medium, and Gretel in Hansen and Gretel.
I value teaching, learning, and performing equally. My teaching passions include; musical theater belt technique, vocal health for longevity, and quantifying vocal change over time. In the future I hope to continue working with students to help them realize their performance goals because I believe there is a place for everyone in music.
