Mary Regan, a native Houstonian, earned a degree in Music from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, with an emphasis in piano pedagogy.
Her studies under Dr. Timothy Schorr, and Dr. Mary Tollefson provided her with a mastery of keyboard technique and repertoire. The skills she gained while in university and her love of music have enabled her to work effectively and teach with dedication. Mary has a passion for teaching, and has been providing instruction for more than fifteen years in a diverse range of settings. Her philosophy is that anyone can learn to be a musician, regardless of age or ability. Her students have been a diverse group, from children to adults of all ages. Some have been experienced musicians seeking advice on technical issues, as well as new perspectives of interpretation. Others have been dedicated amateurs, eager to develop their pianistic skill as a means of artistic fulfillment and personal growth. Mary welcomes all new students and assesses their current playing ability to cater an individualized plan for each person. In addition to working as a private piano instructor, Mary accompanies ensembles and soloists for concerts, events, and musical productions.
