Maggie Lytle is a talented violist who hails from Houston, Texas. A proud graduate of Kinder High School for Performing and Visual Arts, she is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in viola performance at the University of Houston Moores School of Music, studying under the guidance of Dr. Amber Archibald.
Throughout her musical journey, Maggie has had the privilege of learning from and performing with esteemed musicians such as Suzanne LeFevre, Wayne Brooks, Sheldon Person, Susan Dubois, and Catharine Lees. She has participated in masterclasses with acclaimed violists Ivo van der Werff and Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt, further enriching her artistry.
Maggie’s summer experiences have taken her to renowned festivals, including Sewanee Music Center, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, and Brevard Music Center. She has had the honor of performing with orchestras such as the Moores School Symphony Orchestra, the Texas Medical Center Orchestra, and the Brevard Music Center Orchestra, where she served as assistant principal alongside distinguished faculty artists.
In addition to her orchestral work, Maggie has collaborated with talented artists like Yoonshin Song, Robyn Bollinger, Charles Mutter, and Benjamin Hughes, performing in esteemed venues such as Jones Hall, Sarofim Hall at the Hobby Center, and Alice Tully Hall. Her passion for chamber music has led her to work with the Formosa, Callisto, and Balourdet quartets.
When she’s not immersed in music, Maggie enjoys crocheting and cherishing moments with her family, friends, and her two beloved dogs.
