Kristen is known for her contemporary and innovative approach to vocal instruction. At just 24 years old, she combines modern vocal techniques—such as growls, rasps, runs, vibrato, and breathiness—with classic and Broadway-style methods to help each student uncover their unique tone and refine their intonation.
Kristen’s love for music began at the age of seven, singing for family, friends, and her church. Her biggest musical influence was her Memaw, who shared stories of legendary artists like Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, and Dolly Parton. Kristen treasured her Memaw’s tales, including an unforgettable encounter with Elvis Presley himself during a school trip that ended in his kitchen. These memories not only deepened Kristen’s appreciation for music but also ignited a dream to share it with the world.
At 16, Kristen began her professional music career, performing at local festivals and a magic theater in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She also played flute in her high school band and participated in the musical theater program, assisting in productions like Phantom of the Opera, Grease, and Hamilton. However, her life was forever changed when her Memaw passed away from Alzheimer’s. Kristen poured her grief and love into writing her first original song, I Wish You Could See Me Now, a deeply personal tribute to the woman who inspired her musical journey. Although her Memaw never got to see her perform on stage, her memory continues to fuel Kristen’s passion and drive.
Since then, Kristen has performed across Arkansas and beyond, at venues such as Stickyz, The Revolution Music Room, and the Cabot Strawberry Festival. Her career highlights include performances at Gulf Shores, Alabama, at the legendary Hangout, and multiple appearances at The Branson Landing. Kristen is currently the owner and lead vocalist of her band, Flatliner, performing classic rock and country hits spanning from the 1950s to the 2000s.
Now at Vivaldi Music Academy, Kristen is excited to share her knowledge and love for music with the next generation. Whether mentoring rockstars, songwriters, or musical theater enthusiasts, Kristen aspires to inspire her students to dream big, just as her Memaw once inspired her.
