She holds a Masters degree in Music Education from Boston University, as well as a Bachelors degree in Music with a minor in Piano Pedagogy and a certificate in music composition from Valley City State University. Her commitment to honing her craft is evident in her pursuit of education under the guidance of esteemed professors and renowned experts in the field of music pedagogy.
Kirstie’s musical achievements are notable, having received awards for her performances on clarinet, violin, and piano. She has participated in prestigious events like the Summer Strings Institute hosted by the National Philharmonic Orchestra in Washington D.C. and has showcased her talents at renowned venues such as Jones Hall as a member of the Gulf Coast Concert Band. Her involvement in various music associations, including MTNA, NFMC, TFMC, and TMTA, speaks to her dedication to the music community.
From an early age, Kirstie was immersed in music, participating in church choirs and playing in bands and orchestras. Her passion for learning expanded her musical horizons, leading her to become proficient in a remarkable array of instruments, including piano, clarinet, accordion, violin, recorder, organ, voice, cello, flute, concertina, harmonica, kalimba, mandolin, various percussion instruments, and even guitar. Beyond her musical talents, Kirstie is known for her affinity for animals and technology, further enriching her teaching approach.
