Kevin P is a graduate of Houston Baptist University with a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance. He has received comprehensive training in piano, voice, and conducting, and has actively participated in various competitions, concerts, and performance opportunities that have further developed his musical abilities. Under the mentorship of Dr. Laurie Lester, Kevin has also studied with esteemed professors from institutions including Louisiana State University, the University of North Texas, Stephen F. Austin University, and the University of California, Santa Barbara.
This past summer, Kevin engaged in an intensive conducting and opera program with the Varna International Program in Bulgaria, where he prepared lead tenor roles in Street Scene and La Rondine. Additionally, he participated in the conducting program, collaborating with the Bulgarian Orchestra. For the past two years, he has returned to First Presbyterian Church to conduct their annual performance of Messiah. In recognition of his skills, he received the Conducting Student Award in 2016 and is now pursuing graduate studies.
As a father to an 18-month-old daughter who is cultivating a love for music, Kevin appreciates the profound impact that music can have on one’s life. He is dedicated to fostering not only proper technical skills in his students but also a deep appreciation for music, creating a shared experience that can last a lifetime.
