Jake is a highly skilled drummer and educator based in Austin, Texas. Originally from Connecticut, Jake began his formal drum studies at the age of nine. During his formative years, he was an active member of his school’s jazz band, wind ensemble, and pit orchestra, performing in numerous theatrical productions.

In 2017, Jake relocated to Austin to pursue a degree in music at The University of Texas at Austin, where he studied under acclaimed drummer Wayne Salzmann II. Throughout his time at the university, he performed with the Jazz Ensemble and various small combos, culminating in a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance and a minor in Business.

Since his arrival in Austin, Jake has refined his performance skills to adapt to a wide array of musical genres, while simultaneously developing a teaching methodology focused on fostering his students’ success. Recognized for his musical versatility and commitment to excellence, Jake is an in-demand freelance drummer and performs regularly with several prominent bands, including Blue Tongue and Mr. Mota, both locally in Austin and nationally.

Jake’s dedication to his craft, coupled with his passion for teaching, has established him as a respected figure in the Austin music community.
