Corinne “Coco” S was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she began piano lessons at five years old. At eleven, she joined multiple school choirs and by fourteen had become the school’s piano accompanist.
Throughout her high school and college career, Coco performed regularly for various schools, organizations, churches, competitions and private events around Albuquerque as a solo and collaborative pianist. While performing in New Mexico, Coco found herself studying music at the University of New Mexico under Pamela Pyle, M.M. (Juilliard) and Maxine Thevenot, D.M.A. (Manhattan School of Music).
Coco graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor’s in Interpersonal Communication and a Minor in Music. Her early teaching experience began by tutoring fellow music students, either teaching parts, music theory, or multi-instrument collaboration, and she has been teaching private piano lessons since moving to San Antonio. Coco’s communication degree stems from her dedicated interest in understanding and helping others on an individual level, which she believes is often best done through artistic outlets. Coupled with her musical background, she demonstrates a distinct passion for teaching private music lessons.
While Coco specialized in performing as a collaborative pianist, she loves teaching Romantic and Contemporary styles, music theory, and is heavily influenced by jazz. When she’s not at the piano, Coco spends most of her time outdoors either running, or with her two dogs, Pepper Potts and Keeley Jones.
