Chris C is a multi-instrumentalist and guitarist/drummer who has been in the music industry for 30+ years. Specializing in guitar, percussion and performance, Chris is a self taught musician from Waco Tx. At the age of 12, he taught his brother how to play drums and taught his father to play bass. With him as the frontman and guitarist, by 13 years old he formed his family band Pride and Joy and began touring nationally and recording albums composed of original music in the rock/blues genre.
After discovering a passion for percussion, Chris joined his high school marching band playing multi-tenors. Quickly moving up the ranks and becoming section leader, this endeavor would eventually lead to him securing a band scholarship to Prairie View A&M University. There Chris would receive his first formal music training under Professor George Edwards.
Chris began teaching immediately after college by going back to his high school to instruct and assist as Percussion instructor. He would go on to teach at many schools throughout Texas as a consultant and assistant for everything from marching band to jazz band.
Chris’ versatility and experience are an asset to any student under his guidance. Throughout the years he has become proficient in many aspects of music, including production, recording technology, songwriting and performance.
Although gifted in music, Chris considers his main gift is to facilitate. With a passion for teaching, Chris pursues every teaching and learning opportunity with patience, understanding and most of all, fun!
