I, Brandon T, have over 10 years of trained experience playing guitar. The guitar, and music has always been present in my life since I was a small child. At the age of 12, I started guitar lessons with a local Houston music legend Kenny Cordray, who played with ZZ top, Jaco Pastorius, and with Wayne Cochran and the C.C. Riders. After several years of professional teachings, I started my first band The Crunge, playing lead guitar and vocals for the group. In the time period of playing with The Crunge, we played at many venues in the Houston area such as White Oak, Bohemeo’s, Rockefellers, and Scout Bar. I come from a blues, rock, and folk background, but in recent years I have refined my skills and have delved into bossa nova, swing and jazz standards.
My current musical antics would be composing and choreographing my band The Bhagavan’s. I write and teach all the parts to my fellow band members making the lyrics, lead, rhythm, bass, and drums parts for each song. I also was holding lessons in my studio to close friends and family members that wanted to learn the joy of music.
My favorite thing about music is sharing it with others and seeing their face as they enjoy the sounds they’re hearing. Music is meant to be shared that’s why another one of my favorite things is to teach people songs, it warms my heart when someone I’m teaching finally gets it and it all clicks together it’s an amazing experience for both the student and me.
To me music is a language, it is a lifestyle, and is not a choice. Music is all around us.
