Anaya is a passionate vocal coach with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies, concentrating in Visual and Performing Arts, Business, and English, from Philander Smith University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2024. Born and raised in Memphis, TN, Anaya discovered her love for music singing alongside her mother, an opera singer. Her early experiences included participating in prestigious competitions such as All-West and All-State and honing her craft at the renowned Stax Music Academy.
Anaya’s diverse musical background spans classical, opera, soul, hip-hop, rhythm and blues, and musical theatre. Her performances have brought joy to audiences at weddings, funerals, churches, and schools, reinforcing her belief that “music brings light even in the darkest moments.” One of her most memorable performances was singing Summertime by George Gershwin in Virginia Beach.
Beyond her musical achievements, Anaya has a wide range of creative passions, including hair, makeup, dancing, fashion, and songwriting. Her professional experience includes working with the Arkansas Repertory Theatre and performing across various genres, showcasing her versatility and commitment to her craft.
Anaya’s teaching philosophy emphasizes creating a safe and supportive environment where students can thrive. She believes in the transformative power of music to foster creativity, social interaction, cognitive development, confidence, and engagement. Drawing inspiration from her track and field coaches and collegiate choir teachers, Anaya incorporates the values of hard work, dedication, determination, and discipline into her teaching.
