Alexander is a dedicated music educator and professional musician with extensive experience in both performance and teaching. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance, a Graduate Certificate in Music Performance, and a Master of Arts in Teaching. Alexander began his musical journey on the violin before expanding his studies to the cello and piano, showcasing his versatility as a musician.
As a performer, Alexander has worked with many prominent arts institutions in Arkansas, including the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, The Rep, and the Phantom of the Opera National Tour. He has also collaborated with celebrated artists and ensembles such as Stevie Wonder and the Vienna Light Orchestra. In addition to his performance career, he serves as the pianist and music director at St. Nicholas Episcopal Church in Maumelle and First Presbyterian Church in Searcy and works as an accompanist at the University of Central Arkansas.
Alexander’s academic pursuits include musicological studies at Université Catholique de l’Ouest in Angers, France, where he honed his fluency in French. In addition, he speaks Spanish conversationally, further enriching his ability to connect with a diverse range of students and communities.
An experienced teacher, Alexander has taught in a variety of settings, including Pulaski County Public Schools, the Arkansas Youth Symphony, the Albuquerque Youth Symphony, and the Wildwood Academy for Music and the Arts. He has also served as adjunct cello faculty at Harding University and as an educator at several private music schools. Over the years, he has provided private instruction to hundreds of students, fostering their growth and passion for music.
Rooted in Shinichi Suzuki’s belief that “Every Child Can,” Alexander’s teaching philosophy focuses on creating a supportive and inclusive environment where students are inspired to develop both musically and personally.
