Teacher of the Month

Yueun Kim – Piano

Korean pianist Yueun Kim is a winner of numerous competitions including the Sejong Music Competition and the Bach Stravinsky Awards. She has performed at the Chautauqua Music Festival, the Castleman Quartet Program, and the Korean American Day Celebration. As a teaching artist, Ms. Kim has given a presentation at the Students and Young Professionals Pre-Conference Seminar at the National Conference of Keyboard Pedagogy in 2013. She is a former faculty member of the People’s Music School and the Hyde Park Suzuki Institute, and she joins the faculty at the Vivaldi Music Academy this fall. As a student of Ms. Rebecca Penneys, she received a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance with High Distinction from the Eastman School of Music. Ms. Kim has just graduated from Northwestern University, where she received her Master’s degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy studying with Mr. Alan Chow and Dr. Marcia Bosits. She is currently pursuing her second Master’s degree in Piano Chamber Music and Accompanying at Rice University as a recipient of André Watts Scholarship studying with Mr. Brian Connelly.
