Back to School!

The back to school season can be hectic. Sometimes simply getting back into the swing of things takes some preparation. Here are some easy tips to ease the transition!

Lock down your practice schedule

Lock down your schedule

Most kids respond well to consistent schedules, so use a calendar to ensure everyone knows what activities are expected each day. This includes both lessons and practice times! Also consider including a rewards system that will help make the connection from consistent practicing and hard work to beautiful musical results.

Set realistic expectations for practicing

Set realistic expectations for practicing

Make sure everyone is on the same page! Younger children may need shorter practice times compared to older children. Also, if your child is overtired from school and other activities, try to reschedule a time when they are well-rested and enthusiastic for learning music.

Befriend your child’s music teacher

Stay organized

Come to music lessons with all the essentials! If your child is especially forgetful, consider creating a checklist and posting it on the door.

Befriend your child’s music teacher

You are more than welcome to sit in on at least the first few lessons, which will help ease anxiety and also allows you to get a feel for their teaching style. Communication is key for everyone!

Music Practice Journal

Don’t forget the practice journal

A practice journal can be an incredibly valuable tool, when both student and teacher are using it effectively. Sit down with your child and review the journal each week.

Vivaldi Voices and Vivaldi Rocks

This fall we have special performances planned for our ensemble groups. These classes are wonderful opportunities to learn from peers and friends, be a part of a team, reinforce what has been learned in lessons and participate in fun performances around Houston. We’re looking forward to our Halloween performance at Hermann Park next in October 2019! Stay tuned for a variety of upcoming performances including the Children’s Museum, West University Art Night, Winter/Summer recitals and much more!

For the second year in a row, Vivaldi Music Academy is one of Inc. Magazine’s 5000 fastest growing companies. The academy also received distinct honors – positioned at number 37 in the Top Education Companies category, and number 47 in the Top Houston companies sector.

In addition, Vivaldi Music Academy is also considered one of Houston’s 100 fastest growing companies by Houston Business Journal for the second year!

“Music has always been a part of my life, and a part of my dreams. It’s thrilling to be successful in the business world, but I like to think that with the growth of the academy we’re helping more children to make music a part of their dreams.”

Celebrating Vivaldi Music Academy

August is Full of Celebrations!

Vivaldi Music Academy opened its doors to the first music lessons on August 7th, 2013. In the 6 years of opening, the Vivaldi family has performed on prestigious stages nationally and internationally such as Carnegie Hall and we have expanded to our third location in Memorial location as of August 2018! This month we celebrate our students, families, faculty and staff for their continuous support and joining us on this incredible journey! We are looking forward to many more musical memories to come!
