Carnegie Hall, New York City
Carnegie Hall’s unique history is rooted in its magnificent acoustics, the beauty of its three concert halls, and its location in the Big Apple, where it has played a central role in elevating the city into one of the world’s great cultural capitals.
When Carnegie Hall’s cornerstone was laid in 1891, Andrew Carnegie (the Hall’s founding father) proclaimed that “it is probable that this hall will intertwine itself with the history of our country.” This was true from the start when it opened on May 5, 1891, with a spectacular concert that featured Russian composer Pyotr Ilych Tchaikovsky, conducting his own music in his American debut. Since then, its walls have echoed with applause not only for the greatest classical, jazz, and popular musicians, but also for the foremost comedians, authors, social crusaders, world figures, and orators of our time.
Vivaldi Music Academy Plays Carnegie Hall
Enter Vivaldi Music Academy’s own founder and accomplished violinist, Zeljko Pavlovic, and the academy’s talented students. Vivaldi Music Academy had its debut at Carnegie Hall on June 23, 2015, with one concert and over 40 performers in the elegant Weill Recital Hall.
The event featured a variety of instruments: piano, violin, guitar, voice, and cello, and even a debut from our Vivaldi Strings group and faculty members, Sam Perez, LaDonna Jackson, Yueun Kim, and many others. Director, Zeljko Pavlovic made his debut at the concert with his own son and father—three generations of musicians—as they played Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Previous student, Nicholas Wong, a cellist, also made his debut.
Encore!
Vivaldi Music Academy made an encore performance in 2018 at Carnegie Hall after performing in Venice, Italy at Santa Maria Della Pieta (Vivaldi’s Church), and the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington D.C.
Carnegie Hall inspires families and future musicians to make their debut. We hosted two concerts on July 6 and 7, 2018 where students made their performance debuts and encore performances with over 80 performers. Faculty members who joined us were Matthew Gutwald, Director, Zeljko Pavlovic, and Yueun Kim.
Summer 2022
Vivaldi Music Academy returns to Carnegie Hall in 2022 for the third performance with two concerts on July 5 and July 7 in the Weill Recital Hall and the excitement is palpable!
